What to Expect at Cabaret 313

Welcome to Cabaret 313! We’re thrilled to have you join us for a memorable evening of live performance. Whether you’re attending at The Cube at DSO or The Black Box at Detroit Opera, here’s everything you need to know for a smooth and enjoyable experience.

How is Cabaret Different from Broadway Performances?

Cabaret is all about creating an intimate, interactive experience between 1-2 performers and the audience. There are no elaborate sets or distant balcony seats—just the raw, unfiltered performance right in front of you. The energy of the audience plays a big role, making your reactions and applause an essential part of the show. No two performances are ever the same!

How is Cabaret 313 Different from Burlesque?

Our style of Broadway cabaret is an emotional, music-driven experience that prioritizes intimate storytelling, while burlesque leans toward physical expression and playful performance art. Both offer captivating experiences, but cabaret’s charm lies in its raw, unfiltered interaction between artist and audience, focusing on voice, narrative, and emotion.

Checking In

Doors open 30 minutes before performances, so please plan to arrive early and get settled. You’ll find a Check-In Table just outside the venue doors. If you already have your tickets, great! You can also simply check in with your name, and our team will assist you and inform you of your seat location. Inside the performance space, ushers are on hand to help you find your table.

If you’re attending with friends or have specific seating preferences, let us know when purchasing your tickets. We’re also happy to accommodate any accessibility needs—just inform us in advance so we can assist you.

Dress Code

Our audience members come from all backgrounds, and their attire reflects this diversity. You might see some attendees dressed to impress, ready for a night out, while others opt for a more business-casual look. The most important thing is to come as you are and enjoy the night.

Seating

Seating is arranged cabaret-style, with small tables (4-5 seats) illuminated by soft white lamps for a cozy atmosphere. Reserved Seating means you have assigned seats, while General Admission allows for first-come, first-served seating. You may end up sharing a table and making new friends, which is all part of the cabaret experience!

Food and Drinks

The venues offer drinks and light snacks at the bar, and you’ll also find complimentary candy on the tables for a sweet treat during the show.

Post-Show Transition

We love that our patrons enjoy congregating and socializing after the show! However, due to our quick turnaround between the 6:30 and 8:45 performances, we kindly ask that you move into the lobby immediately after the show. The lobby offers more space for socializing, so feel free to chat and connect with fellow patrons there!
